WAEC Exam Body Registers 1.5m Candidates For 2018 WASSCE


WAEC Exam Body Registers 1.5m Candidates For 2018 WASSCE and arrangements for the conduct of the examination for school candidates has been concluded.

The West Africa Examination Council, WAEC says it has registered 1.5 million candidates for the upcoming May/June Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in Nigeria.

The Council’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr Damianus Ojijeogu, made this known on Monday, March 26, in Lagos.

Ojijeogu said the exam body has concluded arrangements for the conduct of the examination for school candidates.

“We have concluded all arrangements and deployed logistics in every part of the country for the conduct of a hitch-free examination.

“We have also taken cognisance of the upsurge of insecurity in some parts of the country.

“We are working in collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies to ensure safe and conducive environments for the conduct of the examination.

“On our part, we will deploy professional examiners and supervisors that will protect the integrity of the examination,’’ Ojijeogu said.

WASSCE to start in April

Recall that in February 2018, the exam body released the timetable for the upcoming exam. As stated in the exam timetable, the 2018 WASSCE will start on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, and ends on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
