Free Education: Imo Government dishes out N300million to students

In continuation of the Free Education programme of the Rochas Okorocha-led Imo state government, the sum of N300million has been disbursed for the 2013/2014 academic session.

The governor last week identified the free education programme as fruitful so far. According to his, crime rate among students in the state has reduced to the barest minimum.

Okorocha said the bursary is to ease the burden on parents in paying school fees while he also promised a gift of I-pad to every Imo graduating student who graduates with grade point of 4.0 and above.

He also declared a scholarship and rewards for the overall best student of every tertiary institution in the Imo state.

He however charged the students to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity given to them and be good ambassadors of the state.

This development is part of the Imo state government plan to make the state one of the foremost states in education.

The governor affirmed his administration’s willingness to make the state better and ensure the well being of the poor especially those that don’t have access to quality education.

Drop a thank you message for this governor below.
