The Adegbenro Polytechnic has gotten ICAN Approval For Her Accountancy Department. All students studying accountancy in the polytechnic are hereby informed to study without fear.
The Rector of the D.S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, Ogun State, Prof. Olufemi Fatade, has said that a team from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria recently visited the school and approved the institution’s accountancy programme.
He disclosed this during the institution’s 12th Matriculation Ceremony for the 2017/2018 session.
Describing the development as a major breakthrough, the rector also announced that the National Board for Technical Education had approved the inclusion of the polytechnic in the Flexible Skill Development/Tertiary E-learning Resources Programme.
Fatade said that, with the certification from ICAN, the institution’s accountancy graduates would be exempted from taking some papers in the ICAN professional examinations.
He said, “I am happy to report that the recent visit of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria to the polytechnic for accreditation purposes in the accountancy department has yielded a well deserved recognition, as the institute selected our institution for the presentation and recognition certificates.”
While congratulating the new students, he however warned them not to be involved in anything that would interrupt the academic calendar and truncate their future ambition, but to focus on their studies.
Fatade also urged the students to live in peace with members of the host community.
Also, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, said the state government was committed to offering qualitative education to the students.
